Build your first workflow

One workflow, start to finish: an import connector brings documents in, a Smart Extract reads them, a person checks what it found, and an export connector delivers the result. Build it in the order below — a document can only be imported into an orchestrator that already exists.

What you'll need
  • The IntelieDocs module visible in your left-hand navigation.
  • These permissions: IntELIEdocs · Smartextract — CREATE, IntELIEdocs · Workbench — EXECUTE.
  • IntelieKonnect too, with Create, Update and Execute on both import and export connectors — this workflow is built across the two modules. Nothing has to exist beforehand, but you do need credentials for the system documents come from, and for the one they go to.

If IntelieDocs isn't in your navigation, your role doesn't have visibility for it — ask a workspace administrator, or see Permissions and module visibility.

Steps

  1. In IntelieDocs, open Smart Extract under All Orchestrators and select Add New. Name it, add your fields under Fields Details, then Submit. On Overview, select Edit Settings and set Review Required so documents wait for a person — see Smart Extract fields.

  2. In IntelieKonnect, select Add Connector on Import Connectors and pick the card for the system your documents live in. Fill in Configuration, verify with Ping or Authenticate until Engagement Status reads Connected, select Enable, then set a schedule on Schedule Configs — see Import connector basics.

  3. Repeat on Export Connectors for the destination, choosing file names and formats on Export Settings before you Enable it — an Active connector is read-only. See Export connector basics and Export settings.

  4. Back on the orchestrator, select Import Channels in its left rail and tick your connector in the Import Channels Selected dropdown; do the same on Export Channels. There is no Save step — see Channels.

  5. Select Fetch now on the import connector instead of waiting for the schedule, then open Manage Documents. New documents arrive at Processing, and the list never refreshes itself — select Refresh. See Fetch now.

  6. Open a document reading Waiting for Review, correct anything wrong under Basic Information, select Save, then Mark as Reviewed. A scheduled export collects only documents that have cleared review, so this is what makes it eligible — it leaves on the export connector’s own schedule, not immediately. See Review and correct.

What success looks like

  • Both connectors show Status reading Active, and Engagement Status reading Connected.
  • Each is a row on the orchestrator's Import Channels or Export Channels table, its ACTION cell reading Disconnect.
  • Fetched documents are listed under Manage Documents, and leave Processing on Refresh.
  • Document marked as reviewed confirms your sign-off; the status then reaches Exporting or Queued for Export, and finally Exported.

If something goes wrong

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
Nothing arrives, though the connector is Active. No schedule, or no import channel.See Schedules and Bind to an orchestrator.
A connector is missing from the channels dropdown. It is not both Active and Connected; ineligible ones are hidden, not greyed out.Verify it — see Verifying.
Documents stop at Completed. No enabled export channel — a document that finishes without one completes as a success, with no error.Attach one — see Bind to an orchestrator.
Queued for Export never becomes Exported. The connector holds it for its next scheduled batch.Wait, or deliver it now.
Mark as Reviewed is disabled.A required field is empty, or the status is Exception.Fill it in and Save — see Sign off and re-run.
