Your profile and language
Your profile shows who you are in the workspace and holds the two things you set yourself: the name other people see, and the language the interface uses. Every signed-in user can open it — no permission is needed.
Steps
Select your name or avatar at the right of the top bar, then Account Settings in the menu that opens.
Basic Details opens with Email, Roles, Departments and Groups shown read-only. Each is simply blank when nothing is assigned to you.
Edit Display Name. This is the name shown in the top bar, and it cannot be saved empty.
Set Preferred Language to English, Español or Deutsch. Nothing changes on screen yet.
Select Save. It is enabled only once something has changed; a language-only change is enough.
What success looks like
- A Profile updated message appears.
- Your new name replaces the old one in the top bar straight away.
- A changed language applies across the whole interface at that moment — not before.
Confirming a save landed
A refused save can be silent: some failures raise no message at all, so a quiet screen is not proof that anything was stored. Treat the three signals above as your confirmation. If none of them appears, reload the page — the fields are read back from the server, so an old value means the change did not land.
If something goes wrong
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Save stays greyed out. | Nothing has changed yet, or you emptied Display Name. | Change a value; Display Name cannot be saved blank. |
| You select Save and nothing happens — no message, no change. | The save was refused, and some refusals show no message. | Reload the page, check whether the field kept your value, then save again. |
| Roles, Departments or Groups are blank. | Nothing is assigned to you, or your details could not be loaded. | You cannot set these here — ask a workspace administrator. |
| The sign-in screen is in English after you chose another language. | Signing out returns the interface to English. | Your saved Preferred Language comes back as soon as you sign in again. |
