Supported files and upload limits

Every upload screen checks your files before they leave the browser, and the rules are not the same on each one. Read the numbers below as what a screen will stop you doing — the service behind it stays the authority, so a file that passes here can still be refused once it uploads, with a message that comes from that service.

IntelieDocs uploads

The Supported types panel beside the drop zone lists what the picker accepts.

CheckWhat the screen allows
Accepted typesPDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, BMP, DOCX, DOC, PPTX, PPT, ODT, XLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV, JSON, XML, TXT
SizeUp to 5 MB per file
Files at onceNo limit
Filename lengthNot checked

A rejected file raises a warning naming it — invoice.gif is not a supported file type, or scan.pdf exceeds the 5 MB limit. Both checks also run on drag-and-drop, so dropping a file the picker would have hidden does not get it through. GIF is refused either way, even though other image formats are accepted.

Knowledge Base documents

CheckWhat the screen allows
Accepted types.pdf, .docx, .txt, .md, .html, .csv
Size50 MB per file — the hint reads PDF, Word, text, Markdown, HTML or CSV · up to 50 MB
Files at onceSeveral, but one when you upload a new version of an existing document
Filename length200 characters

Rejections carry this screen's own numbers: Exceeds 50 MB limit, Type not allowed. Accepted: .pdf, .docx, .txt, .md, .html, .csv, and Filename exceeds the 200 character limit. Please rename the file and try again. An oversize file can also fail with report.pdf exceeds the 50 MB upload limit. Where the name matches a document already here, you are asked A document named report.pdf already exists — upload it as a new version instead? — that check only looks at the first 200 documents, so it can miss a duplicate in a large knowledge base.

Knowledge Base question and answer imports

CheckWhat the screen allows
Accepted types.csv, .xlsx, .xls
Size10 MB
Files at onceOne

The hint reads CSV or Excel (.csv, .xlsx, .xls) — pairs are imported as Unrestricted.

Voice audio

Both surfaces accept audio files — the hints name WAV, MP3 and M4A — and cap them differently.

SurfaceSizeFiles at once
Conversation upload100 MB per file — the hint reads WAV, MP3 or M4A up to 100 MB.No limit
New persona25 MB per fileThree — Up to 3 short, clean samples of this speaker (WAV/MP3/M4A).
Sample added to an existing persona25 MB per fileOne — A short clean sample of this speaker (WAV/MP3/M4A).

Select more than three enrolment samples and only the first three are kept.

IntelieKonnect export templates

Upload Template Document, on an export connector's Export Settings tab.

CheckWhat the screen allows
Accepted types.doc, .docx
Size10 MB
Files at onceOne

Anything else is refused with Only DOC and DOCX template files are supported.

Profile photo

The picker filters to image files, and that is the only check made in the browser — no size or format guard runs, so an image the service will not take fails only after you choose it.

Where the screens disagree

  • PDF is the only type both IntelieDocs and the Knowledge Base accept. IntelieDocs also takes images, PowerPoint, ODT, Excel, TSV, JSON and XML; the Knowledge Base does not. The Knowledge Base takes Markdown and HTML; IntelieDocs does not.
  • Size guards range from 5 MB to 100 MB. There is no single figure that holds everywhere.
  • Only Knowledge Base document uploads check the filename.
  • Only voice persona enrolment limits how many files you can select.
